I am desperate to purchase a backup power supply for my sump pump used to drain a sunken patio.  However, I want to ensure it is sized properly to provide sufficient but not excess capacity (don’t want to “over invest”). The pump requires 1.5 kw/14.5 amps at startup, and 870 watts/7.5 amps during continuous running.  If you can recommend the size and brand of power supply I would be most grateful!

@Bigdirish I like the EcoFlow Delta 2 or Delta 3.  Both of these are lightweight, have enough output power, and will last for a reasonable amount of time, depending on the frequency of running.  Delta 2 goes on sale frequently and I think are one of the best deals out there.

Scott,

Thank you SO much!  How much runtime will these units support?  I want to be able to travel without worrying about potential flooding (which occurred this summer).

Also, which of the two would you recommend?
