Hi, my first time posting here. This is going to be a very beginner-level question.

I'm planning on doing some electrical work in my house for the first time (replacing outlets/receptacles, maybe adding a light or two). My primary concern is my boiler. I have one of those boilers that are fueled by oil stored in a separate oil tank. If I turn off my circuit breaker, presumable causing my boiler/furnace to shut off, will that damage the boiler or interrupt anything? I mean it when I say that I'm new to this. Is it okay to turn a boiler off and on whenever you want to? Is there a proper way to shut it off? Not sure if this amounted to a boiler question, but I'll just leave it in this forum and see what happens.

Hey @DanjustDan you shouldn't have any issues but if you want to be safe you can flip the breaker when the boiler burners are off.  Then do the outlet swap and turn things back on when finished.  Either way I think you are fine and best of luck on your project.

Thanks for the reply and the tip. I tend to lean toward the "can't be too careful" concept when dealing with things like boilers and circuit breaker panels.
