I'm preparing to have fiber internet installed at my house. From where the box mounts on the outside of my home, the cable will come in to my garage. I need to run the cable through the garage and through a wall to get to my network room. I'm wondering if there is a recommendation for conduit for that cable, or if I can just staple the cable along the route?

@twebb101 I would run conduit through the garage just to protect the ethernet cable up to the network room.  If you had attic access or a basement/crawlspace you could also run the cable from the original location up and then over.

@scott-a-dixon Thanks. Any recommendations on the conduit? Or does it not matter, as long as the cable is inside something? Also what if we run the fiber cable across the garage? Does that change the conduit requirements/recommendations?

@twebb101 is probably just personal preference.  I think a lot of DIYers prefer plastic conduit and just gluing the fittings.  Things like installing LB conduit bodies will help access and pull the cable much easier.
